I'm Back! Again!

Before I start with my project, I want to say a big THANK YOU to my mom!  I truly appreciate all that you've been doing for me!  And to all of my wonderful new friends, another thank you for all of your support!

Now my mom, Ruth, is still in her very 1st year of paper crafting, and not only has she been SO great at taking care of our blog (and me, of course), she hasn't missed a single Bah! Humbug! Challenge entry!  Nor has she missed many of CHNC's Challenges (since she started with that one)!  So, Mom, I am so proud and blessed to have you as my mama and my best friend!

Now, onto the fun stuff! This is my entry for the Bah! Humbug! Challenge 26: Acetate and I'd also like to enter this in the CHNC Challenge 27: Pink and/or Purple. I decided to go super simple and clean with this challenge (my 1st in months). I love this little box because it is so versatile! You can put some holiday candies inside, or a jewelry gift, or any small gift that you want. I hope you like it, and that it inspires you to think "outside of the box"! He he

I started by die-cutting a little box using my Big Shot (Sizzix Shaker Box Bigz XL) out of green cardstock.  Then, I cut two panels of glitter patterned paper for the top and underside of the flap (My Mind's Eye Sweet Dreams Holiday Avenue Glitter Book), which has pink and purple in it for Hazel's Challenge. For Bah!Humbug!'s challenge, I cut acetate to fit the "window" of the box and stamped a snowflake design onto it (using SEI's Glitzmas Clear Stamp set and StazOn Jet Black ink).

To add a little something extra, I used some glitter star stickers (Martha Stewart Glittered Snowflake Sticker sheet) that went with the aqua color in the patterned paper. As much as I like how it turned out, I do still think it needs something to dress it up a bit, and I know you ladies can give me some great ideas! So please don't hesitate to offer them!

Thank you for looking!

  1. I think it's fab & the only thing I would maybe add is some ribbon, but that said it looks lovely as is!

  2. Its a lovely little box! I'm sure it looks even better in the flesh with its glittered snowflakes. What about adding a little sentiment or tag? :)

  4. Hi Erin ... your gift box is wonderfully versatile - super colours using gorgeous glittery paper and I agree with Abi and Carolyn that a ribbon and tag would be the perfect finishing touch.
Thank you for sharing with us at Bah! Humbug!

  5. Hi Erin your little box is lovely. I agree with Max a ribbon and gift tag would finish it off perfectly. Thank you for commenting on my card. This was my first time stamping on acetate and colouring with a promarker and adding glitter. I have always backed away from doing it. But it was so easy with that stamp. Hugs x ChrisB
