The challenge for this week at Bah! Humbug! is apertures. Again, beautiful DT cards to get inspiration from.
I used the Sizzix movers and shapers die kit #1 for the A2 card base. And, since I wanted to try my hand at coloring a stamped image with watercolor pencils, my daughter suggested I use some of her watercolor paper. (She can be quite helpful.) The stamp I chose was You Cane Light The Way - a rubber stamp from Stampabilites. I ran some more of the same paper through the Big Shot using the same die (just cut it down to size) to make the window frame. Both the window frame and corner pieces on the inside were inked with chalk inks. I added some gems and a clear sticker sentiment to the front. I'm not sure I like the shiny look of the sentiment sticker, though, so I may try to change it.
Thanks so much for taking a look...
Oh Ruth this is just gorgeous. I am obcessed with House Mouse at the moment and I love the cuteness of your window - just lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this gem with us at Bah! Humbug!

I love your window. This is such a wonderful card.
ReplyDeleteFantastic window card Ruth - an adorable wee cutie, coloured beautifully. How lovely that you share your toys lol!
ReplyDeleteIf you're not too keen on the shiny sentiment you could disguise the edges with gold peel off lines or red glitter glue to match the gems rather than risk ruining the card by removing it. Thank you for sharing with us at Bah! Humbug! and enjoy playing with your stencil when it arrives.
