Love Birds - Crop Chocolate non traditional valentine challenge

The Crop Chocolate challenge for last week was to make a valentine using non traditional colors. I used the love birds stamp set and colored the birds with copics in lavender and yellow. The branch they are sitting on is a die cut and nesties were used for the white and patterned paper mat. All was put on dark brown cardstock then mounted on a white card base. The inside of the card is finished using the same brown and printed papers framing the sentiment. I really like this card, even with the different colors. And, my hubby liked it too! (Purple is his favorite color.)

Less is More Punches or Die Cuts Challenge

The challenge for this week at Less is More is to use punches or die cuts. I have also combined this with Crop Chocolate's challenge to use one shape in place of another. The shape I have chosen is a heart and have used that shape to form shamrocks. All the hearts were punched out, which satisfies the Less is More challenge.
The center plaid square was made with a stripe stamp and three different colors of green. I stamped then rotated 90 degrees and stamped again to achieve a plaid design. The edges of the white background cardstock were cut with pinking shears and the square mounted on a darker green square with inked edges. I ran the hearts and hand cut stems through my Xyron then put the shamrocks together on the plaid square and card base. Some stickles were added for sparkle.
As always, thanks for looking at this card!

CHNC Challenge 60

This week at CHNC, we are to make a card with a scene. I have decided to continue using up some scraps from last year, and made a card base with some light blue swirly leftover card stock. The scene was purchased at Michael's end of season sale. It's a glitter rub-on called "Winter's Night" I used Nesties to cut around the scene and to make a solid blue mat. The corners of the card base were rounded using a punch and gems added for more bling. All in all a very simple card but fun to make (I've never used such a big, thick rub-on before). I like it and hope you do too.

CHNC Challenge 58, LIM Aqua Challenge

This week at CHNC, we are to use die cuts, and the challenge at Less is More is to use the color aqua. So, I've combined both and made an aqua card with die cut snowflakes on it.
The base is aqua Bazzill card stock, and snowflakes are cut out of vellum with pearls added to the centers. For the "winter", I used a letterpress and white paint. I sprinkled fine, clear glitter over the printed area while still wet to give it a more snowy feel. It is quite simple, but I think it is effective.
Thanks for taking a look!

CHNC Challenge 57

Hello, I'm back! I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! My first Christmas card of the year is for CHNC's Challenge 57, which is to create any type of square card. So, I've made a square gatefold angel card. I used a glittered angel sticker that I mounted onto white cardstock, then fussy-cut it out and adhered to the front of the card. The wide red ribbon was from a Christmas gift. And I added the holly stickers that go with the angel on two of the corners. It's a simple card, but I really like it! Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoy it.
