Pieced and Beaded Christmas Card

This is my entry for Bah!Humbug! Challenge #29.  The challenge was to use beading of some kind, so I beaded the star hanging off a branch with Martha Stewart Crafts crystal micro beads.  (I hope it shows in the picture.)
I'll add more details about the card later.  I hope you like it, and thanks for looking!

Challenge #29

We are adding beads to our card for Bah!Humbug! this week, and a reindeer for CHNC. I used a clear stamp (not sure where from) that was part of a Christmas collection for the reindeer and snow. I inked only the reindeer and stamped it directly onto the white card base. I then used Martha Stewart glue to ink the snowflakes only of the same stamp and stamped that on top of the reindeer. I quickly added Martha Stewart's clear micro beads to the glue stamped card. (My daughter suggested, after I had made a big mess and had beads all over me, the table, and the floor, that I put the card in a box top before pouring beads on it. I could have used the suggestion before I made the mess - oh well, live and learn). I stamped the sentiment from the same collection and added a punched side using a Martha Stewart punch. Black satin ribbon was woven through the punched side as a finishing touch. Very simple, but I like the subtle shimmer from the beads. I hope you like it, as well. Thanks for looking.

Challenge #28

We are making a card that is anything but a square or rectangle for Bah!Humbug!, and it must have at least one star for CHNC. (I try to combine both of these wonderful challenges when I can, since I am still quite slow at making cards). Anyways, I was looking for ideas on how to do a differently shaped card, and happened to go to the Miscanthus Crafts blog. There, I found some very helpful tutorials. I used the pop-up tag tutorial for this card - it worked quite well! (Super easy to follow)
Supplies used were: patterned papers from the Hobby Lobby Christmas 2010 Magic of the Season pad, red and gold foil papers, and a tree cut from the Slice Falala design card (popped up off the card), peel off sentiment, trim from Making Memories deck the halls ribbon pack, and gold and red gems.

I do hope you like it, and thanks for taking a look!

Challenge #27

Bah! Humbug! is having us make a card with mice on it, and CHNC is asking for spots. I made this card using a free digi stamp from dulemba.com that I colored with Anna Griffin watercolor pencils. I used nesties for the circle and scalloped circle and a patterned sticker strip for the spots. Striped picture corners from the same kit as the sticker finished off the card. The inside is stamped with Hampton Art's 'Twas the Night Background rubber stamp. (It's the first paragraph from "The Night Before Christmas").

This was a fun challenge. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my card.

I'm Back! Again!

Before I start with my project, I want to say a big THANK YOU to my mom!  I truly appreciate all that you've been doing for me!  And to all of my wonderful new friends, another thank you for all of your support!

Now my mom, Ruth, is still in her very 1st year of paper crafting, and not only has she been SO great at taking care of our blog (and me, of course), she hasn't missed a single Bah! Humbug! Challenge entry!  Nor has she missed many of CHNC's Challenges (since she started with that one)!  So, Mom, I am so proud and blessed to have you as my mama and my best friend!

Now, onto the fun stuff! This is my entry for the Bah! Humbug! Challenge 26: Acetate and I'd also like to enter this in the CHNC Challenge 27: Pink and/or Purple. I decided to go super simple and clean with this challenge (my 1st in months). I love this little box because it is so versatile! You can put some holiday candies inside, or a jewelry gift, or any small gift that you want. I hope you like it, and that it inspires you to think "outside of the box"! He he

I started by die-cutting a little box using my Big Shot (Sizzix Shaker Box Bigz XL) out of green cardstock.  Then, I cut two panels of glitter patterned paper for the top and underside of the flap (My Mind's Eye Sweet Dreams Holiday Avenue Glitter Book), which has pink and purple in it for Hazel's Challenge. For Bah!Humbug!'s challenge, I cut acetate to fit the "window" of the box and stamped a snowflake design onto it (using SEI's Glitzmas Clear Stamp set and StazOn Jet Black ink).

To add a little something extra, I used some glitter star stickers (Martha Stewart Glittered Snowflake Sticker sheet) that went with the aqua color in the patterned paper. As much as I like how it turned out, I do still think it needs something to dress it up a bit, and I know you ladies can give me some great ideas! So please don't hesitate to offer them!

Thank you for looking!

Challenge #26

This week's challenge at Bah!Humbug! is acetate, and at CHNC we are to use pink and/or purple on our card. So, my card for the week has both. I used up some scraps for this one - a blank aperture card I had cut out, left over acetate, some plain pink and patterned papers, and chipboard circle and tree (on the inside). I just added peel off stars and a peel off sentiment to the front, and called it finished. (The acetate is covering the aperture on the front, and there is another chipboard circle on the inside that borders the aperture to make it cleaner looking)
I hope you like it, and thank you for taking a look.
